anti-virus software program

Anti-virus software will help protect your computer checking emails, downloads and even images and removing viruses and trojans before they can get a foothold in your computer. And regular virus scans can help find and remove any that slip through the net.

But as with Windows, it is important that your anti-virus software is bang up to date. You should check regular for updates - or better still, have the software check for updates automatically. And you should run regular scans - at least weekly - to ensure that your computer is virus free.

Most new computers come with anti-virus software pre-installed, giving you anything from three to 12 months worth of fre updates. Once that period expires you will have to renew your subscription or your computer will be at risk.
