E-mails are a common source of viruses and other things that you don't want in your inbox let alone your computer.

If you receive an e-mail from someone that you do not know or you receive an unknown attachment, never open it. Delete the e-mail.

Remember, that even if you receive an e-mail from someone you know, it is not necessarily safe. If their computer is infected, their address book can be hijacked without their knowledge and their friends and acquaintances sent a nasty payload.

And remember people tell lies! Just because the e-mail claims to have an "an important security update from your bank" or a "sexy picture of Britney Spears nude!" don't you believe it.

Hit that delete button instead.
